These are juvenile crayfish that have been bred by me. Approximate size is around 1/2"
They are similar in care to CPO, and are originally native to Texas. Their common name is the Brazos dwarf cray, and they range in color from tan to blue, some of them having prominent striping on their back. Gentle in nature, but sassy as dwarf crayfish are, they accept a wide range of parameters and are easy to breed. They seem to be a bit more mild in behavior than Cambarellus patzcuarensis, and are slightly more petite at adult size. All in all, they are a lovely little crayfish, safe with plants and small fishes, and would make a great addition to a small community tank. As with any other crayfish species, one should provide small caves or areas to hide after they molt, when they are most vulnerable to each other, or fishes in the tank.
