Description

Please read entire listing before purchase.
This is a clean live food starter culture of freshwater scuds, Gammarus sp.
Scuds resemble a shrimp, can grow to 1/4 inch in size, and feeds on organic detritus.
Scuds are a good natural food source for fish up to 4 inches long including but not limited to tetras, gouramis, catfish, small cichlids, and fry of larger species.
Scuds may also help fish to breed.
They are an ideal food when quarantining new fish, especially wild caught and carnivorous fish, in a bare bottom tank.
Culture is also good for aquaponic gardening and ponds as a consistent live food supplement.
For best results, culture them in a jar then feed off when needed.
One of the easiest cultures to keep with minimal maintenance.
Magnified picture shows adults but culture will contain scuds of mixed sizes/ages including several young breeders.
Scuds are counted, packaged safely, and shipped with a small piece of plant for a smoother transition.
Extras are included in case of any DOAs.
